Pays d’Aigues which slopes down towards the valley
of the Durance is the haunt of freshets, which spring
from the mountain, spreading into the great bend in the river
that stretches from Mérindol to Mirabeau.....

Château de la Tour d’Aygues… water again,
that supplies the étang de la Bonde - the moat of the
ruined Renaissance Château de la Tour d’Aygues,
which was once host to Catherine de Medicis.
Ansouis
crowned by its magnificent chateau occupied from 1264 to this
day… by the de Pontevès de Sabran family. (well
worth a visit)
